No further action against Doctor Who lizard-lesbian snog - says Ofcom

Doctor Who’s season eight opener starring Peter Capaldi in the role for the first time saw Ofcom receive six complaints after two married females – albeit one part-lizard – kissed.

The watchdog said that the kissing scene between Madame Vastra, a humanoid lizard and her human wife, Jenny Flint, shown during the episode ‘Deep Breath’ did not break any broadcasting rules.

Ofcom said: “Having assessed the complaints, we can confirm that they do not raise issues warranting further investigation.

“Our rules do not discriminate between scenes involving opposite sex and same sex couples.”
