Russian minister brands Apple’s U2 gift album as ‘gay propaganda’

A Russian politician has demanded an inquiry into Apple for its free distribution of U2’s latest album ‘Songs of Innocence’ on iTunes.

Alexander Starovoitov, a member of the right-wing party LDPR party said that by distributing the album, Apple was guilty of promoting “gay propaganda”.

Following U2 album Songs of Innocence being automatically distributed to over 500 million worldwide iTunes users – a move for which Bono has since apologised for – Starovoitov alleged that the album cover (pictured) which features drummer, Larry Mullen hugging his topless son Elvis, is gay.
