Samsung and Ikea have emerged at the forefront of a new era of universally compatible wireless charging technology after the electronics brand and flat pack furniture retailer announced the release of new products embracing the latest iteration of the technology from April.

Both firms are collaborating with the Wireless Power Consortium for their latest wares with Samsung embedding the tech within its advanced Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices whilst Ikea will incorporate wireless charging outlets on its furniture range, negating the need for plugs and cables.
