YouTube is readying a dedicated gaming channel for launch in the US and UK later today as the video streaming provider looks to go head to head with Twitch.

Designed to facilitate the live streaming of gamers exploits for others to view the new service will collate all game related feeds and broadcasts under a unified umbrella to drive traffic to the site.

In addition to the desktop site YouTube Gaming will also be made available as an iOS and Android app, ensuring subscribers can get their gaming fix even whilst on the move.
