A trial of the service is set for this autumn in a bid to capitalize on the fastest growing part of the UK’s £180bn grocery market. Facebook admits it was used by ‘malicious actors’ during US election

By Staff Writer Facebook has admitted that “malicious actors” had created “fake personas” to spread fake news across its social network last year. The admission came in a report by the technology firm’s security team, which said its data “does not contradict” the US director of National Intelligence’s conclusion that Russia interfered with the US election. Facebook’s own investigation explored how foreign states are using the social network to try and sway public opinion in other countries.
