Discount retailer Aldi mocked its rivals’ participation in the Black Friday phenomenon which saw fights break out all over the UK as shoppers tried to snag a bargain.
While the UK’s ‘big four’ supermarkets Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons adopted the American shopping gimmick, Aldi refrained, instead issuing a snide tweet claiming to always offer the lowest prices.
It said: “We think we did #BlackFriday last week. Although it was just called Friday”
