In a global first, The X Factor is set to use Facebook Live to give hopefuls the opportunity to audition on social media.
Joining the likes of BuzzFeed and IGM, ITV is the latest media brand to jump on the real-time bandwagon, with its flagship show inviting would-be stars to share a song via Facebook’s live video service.
The initiative was revealed by newly reinstated X Factor host Dermot O’Leary today (24 May) live, with the presenter telling potential contestants to sign up before 27 May to be in with a chance of competing.
