BT has set out it plans to bring ‘ultrafast’ broadband to the UK while the company reported a pre-tax profit increase of 12 per cent at £694m during its third quarter last year.
In delivering its quarterly results, chief executive Gavin Patterson talked about his ambition to deploy “G.fast broadband” across the UK with two pilot schemes set to proceed this summer in order that BT can deliver ultrafast speeds of up to 500Mbps to most of the UK within a decade, with initial plans scheduled from 2016/17.
