Disney and Sony have sold their joint video-on-demand (VOD) service FilmFlex, which counts Virgin Media among its clients, to US video firm Vubiquity for an undisclosed sum.
UK-based Filmflex, which was formed by the two media conglomerates in 2005, has movie deals with more than 30 distributors including Hollywood studios.
It counts Channel 4, EE, TalkTalk and Virgin Media among its clients, and claims to be the largest independent provider of white label VOD services outside the US.
