NYPD increases security at Facebook and Twitter following new Isis threats

Facebook’s New York headquarters is reportedly on high alert following threats made by Isis to its founder Mark Zuckerberg in a propaganda video.

Released earlier this week, the video targets Zuckerberg and Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey and according to reports officers from the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit were on patrol near both Twitter and Facebook’s offices on Friday (26 February).

However, it appears there has been no direct request from Facebook for extra protection. The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit routinely patrols ares perceived to be at risk.
