Bookmaker Paddy Paddy has attributed a six-month 20 per cent drop in operating profit to a bad run of luck – despite the firm grabbing newspaper headlines with a series of humorous sports-related PR campaigns and recording industry-leading digital growth.
The UK leader in mobile and smartphone gambling, which has seen its profits double since 2009, reported a 20 per cent drop in operating profit to 60 million euros in the first half of the year.
