Samsung looks to ‘reinvent’ the wearable movement with Gear S smartwatch

Samsung has today (28 August) unveiled a new smartwatch which it says will “redefine the idea of the smart wearable” as it expands 3G connection directly to the watch without the need for a smartphone.

The Samsung Gear S features a range of optimised features including Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity as well as the ability to make and receive calls directly from their wrist.

The watch, which has a curved Super Amoled display, runs on Samsung’s own operating system Tizen rather than Google’s Android Wear like its other wearable products.
