With it entering the final six weeks of the US presidential election race, the first of three scheduled debates was bound to throw up a series of talking points on social media as Donald Trump faced off against Hillary Clinton.
In the 24 hours preceding 11am GMT Tuesday (27 September) social media analysis firm Brandwatch measured the volume of mentions of each candidate during the debate online.
Also measured was the sentiment expressed about both candidates. A majority of Clinton comments were positive, on the other hand, Trump sentiment was largely negative.
