SXSW co-founder’s David Bowie St sign tribute allowed by Austin city officials… for now

Officials in Austin, Texas, the home of the South by Southwest festival celebrating film, interactive media, and music has decided to allow a street sign vandalised in tribute of David Bowie to stay in place until next week.

A specially-designed sticker was erected over the pre-exisiting Jim Bowie street by Roland Swenson, co-founder of the South by Southwest festival, which takes place annually in the city.

He made the adjustment to pay homage to the musician who passed away earlier this week.
