BBC aims to bring people together through 'The Great British Sing-A-Long'

By Ellen Ormesher Attempting to boost morale as many lockdown restrictions remain in place, BBC Creative has teamed up with BBC Sounds and BBC Radio Stations to produce a new film for ‘The Great British Sing-A-Long’. The ad takes a bird’s eye view of a block of flats, where the residents in lockdown sing and dance in unison to David Bowie’s 1977 hit ‘Heroes’. The radio station found itself in the middle of a social media storm this week, as listeners sought redemption for a listener that was denied a prize win due to his accent. Exposure to age-restricted ads remains low, but ASA is ‘mindful’ of online harm for kids

By Imogen Watson While children’s exposure to gambling ads on TV has dropped in recent years, the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) has warned of the need to stay vigilant when policing online ads. Mindful of reducing children’s exposure to age-restricted ads, UK ad rules contain scheduling restrictions designed to significantly reduce the exposure of under-18s to ads for alcohol and gambling.
